HeartSine

HeartSine makes the Samaritan PAD 500P, a compact semi-automatic defibrillator with a built-in CPR Advisor. Like other AEDs, it analyses the heart rhythm and advises a shock only when one is needed, then prompts the rescuer to press the shock button. The 500P adds CPR coaching for the compressions that follow.

During CPR, the 500P gives spoken prompts such as "Push harder", "Push faster" or "Push slower", and "Good compressions" once the rescuer is on track, with the same guidance shown on the front of the device. A beep helps the rescuer keep time with compressions. This real-time coaching suits workplaces and community sites where the person who reaches the AED first may have limited defibrillator experience.

One cartridge to track

Instead of separate pads and a battery, HeartSine uses the Pad-Pak, a single cartridge that combines the battery and the electrode pads. That means one expiry date to watch, and after a rescue you replace the Pad-Pak and the unit is ready again. A Paediatric Pad-Pak is available for children. The 500P is rated IP56 for protection against dust and water and comes with a soft carry case.
