That is what the HeartStart range is designed for. Both units coach the responder with calm voice instructions through pad placement, shock delivery and CPR, paced to their actions. Formal CPR and AED training is still strongly recommended so your team responds with confidence.
Yes, with the right accessory. The HS1 uses a separate Infant/Child SMART Pads cartridge. The FRx uses the Infant/Child Key, which switches the unit to child protocols without changing pads.
Pads have a printed use-by date and must be replaced once it passes, or after any use. The M5070A battery typically lasts 4 years installed. The unit's self-tests will alert you when something needs attention, and we recommend a monthly visual check of the status indicator and expiry dates.
Both the HS1 and FRx carry an 8-year device warranty from Philips. The M5070A battery is warranted for 4 years from installation when installed by its shelf-life date, and pads are warranted to their printed expiry.
